Team Arjun Works Towards Higher Production at PM3
Focus Improvement Project
Production losses at PM3 have prompted Team Arjun to take up a Focused Improvement project with a clear goal—to increase finished production by 5% by addressing interruptions and improving machine performance.
The study focuses on what disrupts paper production and why some maintenance activities take longer than planned. The team is examining variations in vacuum and moisture, along with the condition of the felts that help remove water from paper. They are also reviewing felt and wire changes to understand how shutdown planning, team availability and job coordination could reduce downtime.
Led by Jagjeet Singh Khanna, with Narendra Aggarwal as facilitator, the team includes Dharmendra, Kuldeep, Kamal and Arvind. Through brainstorming and data collection, they are investigating possible causes before deciding on corrective actions.
The project is currently at the study stage, with the aim of developing lasting improvements that help PM3 run more consistently and achieve higher finished production.
