I came to Pakka at 22, and today, as I retire at 60, I wonder how these years passed so quickly. I came here for work, but the relationships I built made this place feel like home.
Whenever I had something new to learn, there was someone willing to teach me. Whenever I needed help, I could ask without hesitation. That support gave me the confidence to keep learning and take on new responsibilities.
What I will remember most is the warmth of the people here—the conversations, the laughter and the time we spent with one another after work. I never felt that I was away from my village or living among strangers.
I have spent a large part of my life here, and I have been happy. As I retire, I feel grateful to everyone who made these years so special. It is because of all of you that such a long journey felt so short.
