Smart VFD Enhances Process Stability and Energy Efficiency
A significant Kaizen initiative has been successfully implemented at Pakka, reinforcing the spirit of continuous improvement and innovation. We sincerely appreciate the efforts of idea giver Komal Rawat and team members Priya Ranjan and Ashish for this commendable contribution.
Earlier, the reclaim chest dilution pump operated at a fixed RPM, requiring frequent start and stop actions to maintain the chest level. This led to process instability, higher energy consumption, and the risk of overflow.
Understanding this challenge, the team proposed the use of a VFD (Variable Frequency Drive). With its implementation, the pump speed is now automatically controlled based on the chest level. This has brought stability to the process, eliminated frequent start-stop operations, and ensured energy savings.
As a result, operations have become smoother, dependency on operators has reduced, and the overall process has become more efficient.
