From skill building to operational excellence: Systematic OJT and standard work workshop

To strengthen the culture of continuous learning, capability building and operational excellence, Pakka Limited organised a workshop on Systematic On-the-Job Training (OJT) and Standard Work. The session was led by Ravi V, Learning and Organization Development Consultant, and saw active participation from department heads, Sanghrakshaks, Sevaks, subject matter experts (SMEs), senior operators and process experts.

Our approach to learning

The aim is to build a skilled, self-reliant and high-performing workforce that contributes to the organisation’s long-term success through continuous learning, safe work practices and standardised processes.

Key steps include connecting every team member to a structured OJT system, turning SOPs into practical OJT manuals, and developing experienced team members as trainers and skill builders. The initiative also links skill development to business outcomes such as quality, safety, productivity and OEE.

From SOPs to OJT manuals

The workshop highlighted that an SOP explains the steps in a process, while an OJT manual brings together learning, practice, safety, quality and skill assessment. This makes training more practical, structured and effective.

Better training can improve productivity and quality, reduce safety risks, increase OEE and support operational excellence.

What this means for Pakka

The initiative is expected to create a standardised training system, accelerate skill development and improve quality, safety and productivity. It will also strengthen the way critical work knowledge is retained and transferred, while building a culture of learning and continuous improvement.

“When learning becomes part of the work, excellence becomes more than an outcome—it becomes part of our culture.”

Every member of the Pakka family has an important role in this journey. Together, we can build a more capable, safer and more excellent organisation.
