Water conservation is not just a goal at Pakka—it’s a continuous journey driven by innovation and teamwork. Across our manufacturing units, multiple projects are being implemented to reduce freshwater consumption, recover process water, and maximise water reuse.

Some of the key initiatives include reusing backwater within PM1, recovering MPS drain water from PM2, diverting cooling water for reuse, using backwater for alum preparation, and installing rainwater harvesting systems. Teams are also working on recovering coloured water from all three paper machines for reuse in pulp dilution, a project expected to save 200–250 KLD of water. Other initiatives, such as replacing freshwater with treated water in the power plant, optimising bleach transfer systems, and implementing pump sealing water recovery, are further strengthening our water stewardship efforts.

Collectively, these initiatives are expected to save thousands of kilolitres of water every year, while improving process efficiency and reducing dependence on freshwater. Every project reflects the Kaizen spirit—where small ideas, technical excellence, and collaborative efforts come together to create a lasting environmental impact. 🌿
