Health & Safety Guidelines

September, 2026 |

Purpose

At Pakka, we believe that every team member is responsible for their own safety as well as the safety of others. These guidelines are designed to help us create a safe, healthy, and caring workplace for every member of Team Pakka.

By working with awareness, discipline, and shared responsibility, we can prevent incidents and ensure that everyone returns home safely every day.

Philosophy

At Pakka, we believe that safety is an expression of care, not fear. We follow safe practices not because they are mandatory, but because every life is precious.

Safety becomes stronger when every individual takes ownership, supports others, and has the courage to stop or speak up whenever something is unsafe.

A strong Sangh is built when everyone looks after one another, making safety a natural part of how we think, work, and live.

General Guidelines

Personal Protective Equipment (Mandatory PPE)

The following PPE must be worn in all designated operational areas:

  • Safety Helmet
  • Safety Shoes

Depending on the nature of work, additional PPE may include:

  • Safety Goggles
  • Gloves
  • Full Body Harness
  • Mask
  • Apron
  • Hearing Protection

Permit to Work (PTW)

A valid Permit to Work (PTW) must be obtained before starting any applicable activity.

This includes:

  • General Work
  • Hot Work
  • Work at Height
  • Confined Space Entry
  • Electrical Work
  • Excavation Work

No work requiring a permit shall begin without proper authorization.

Emergency Preparedness

To ensure readiness during emergencies, Pakka will:

  • Conduct regular emergency response drills.
  • Conduct Fire and Chlorine (Cl₂) Leak Response Drills.
  • Train team members on emergency response procedures.
  • Display emergency contact numbers at designated locations.
  • Maintain and periodically review Emergency Response SOPs.
  • Ensure emergency equipment is always accessible and ready for use.

Safety Zones

  • All operational plant areas (excluding designated common roads) are Safety Zones.
  • Mandatory PPE must be worn while entering these areas.
  • Visitors, contractors, and business partners are also expected to comply with all applicable safety requirements.

Safety Accountability

Safety is built on trust and self-responsibility. Every team member is expected to consistently follow safety guidelines.

However, where safety rules are knowingly ignored, corrective actions will be taken.

Corrective Amount

Safety Non-Compliance  Corrective Amount (₹)
Not wearing Safety Shoes  100
Not wearing Safety Helmet  100
Working without a valid Work Permit  500

Improper / No Parking  100

 Additional Accountability

To strengthen our safety culture:

  • Safety Committee Members, Sevaks, and Sanghrakshaks are expected to lead by example. Any safety violation by them will attract double the applicable corrective amount.
  • If a team member is found without mandatory PPE three times within a month, one day’s salary may be deducted.
  • If any work requiring a Permit to Work is carried out without a valid PTW, the responsible engineer may be subject to one day’s salary deduction.
  • If an accident occurs due to non-compliance with Safety SOPs or mandatory PPE requirements, the corrective action may be up to ten times the applicable amount, along with disciplinary action as per company policy.
